Frequently Asked Questions
Faculty and Staff- see the Faculty/Staff FAQ's.
When are your programs offered?
Programs are offered at various times throughout the year and programming will be available year-round. Specific programs may only be offered once or twice per year. See the CPE Event Calendar for upcoming events.
Where are your programs offered?
It depends! Many of our programs will be located at Oregon State University, but please check the program details carefully to make sure you are aware of where the programs are taking place. We also advertise programming that is sponsored by other organizations- very few of these events are at OSU. If it is not clear on where a program will take place, contact the program contact on the listing for clarification.
How much do your programs cost?
This varies. The cost depends on the length of the program, what is included in the registration fee (such as meals and/or lodging), how many instructors there are, and other factors. Each program lists the cost and some programs may offer scholarships. If you have specific questions about the costs of a program, please get in touch with the program contact on the listing.
Are your programs open to the public?
Yes. However, keep in mind that the target audience for these programs are professionals in the general fields of forestry and natural resources. If you are a landowner, or a member of the general public, you may find more appropriate or relevant programming at the Oregon State Extension Website. Some programs we offer may also require pre-requisites that would prevent you from registering for the courses.
Do the programs offer SAF, or other professional organization, credits?
Some will! See the program listing for more information and get in touch with the program contact if you don't understand how to make sure you will receive continuing education credits from your preferred organization.
Do you offer special accommodations for individuals with impairments or other restrictions?
We will try our best to accommodate all participants regardless of any impairments. Please keep in mind that this may not always be possible (i.e. some field sites may not be appropriate for those who are unsteady on their feet or who may use a wheelchair). Accommodation requests should be made at least one month in advance of the program date to the CPE Program Coordinator by emailing CoFContEd@oregonstate.edu or by calling 541.737.3740. Similarly, if you have any dietary considerations to relay (for programs that include meals), please let the Program Coordinator know as soon as you sign-up if that information is not requested at registration.
Is there a question that should be answered here, but isn't?
